Group: Relationship with Self and Others
Every other Thursday, Ongoing
Learn better relationship skills by knowing yourself. Learn tools for making clear, healthy, grounded adult choices in all relationships.
In this ongoing experiential/process group for women, we will explore our relationship to ourselves and others. You will learn better relationship skills by knowing yourself. Learn tools for making clear, healthy, grounded adult choices in all relationships.
Appropriate for anyone struggling with:
• leaving a relationship
• improving your relationship with your spouse/partner
• creating a stronger relationship with yourself
• seeking conscious, authentic relationships
• changing unhealthy relationships patterns.
The goal of this group is to increase your awareness of your defenses which often result in a reactive state when engaging with others. These reactions and their resulting behaviors may keep you stuck in a pattern or dynamic that is not working. This can take the form of beating yourself up with judgment and criticism, finding yourself attracted to the same type of unhealthy person or repeating the same conflict with our spouse or partner. We need our defenses otherwise known as our “mask or survivor self” to protect us and help us to function. However, if we are unconscious of our defenses, we may think we are behaving in an authentic way when we are reacting based on a prior wounding experience or negative belief.
It is often difficult to find our truth and connect with our authentic self because of these prior wounds and early experiences. The format of this group allows you to delve deeply into yourself to find the clarity and truth of your authentic self and make relationship choices and choices for yourself from an authentic adult perspective. The process helps you to define your needs, see yourself compassionately, and meet your own needs. In relationships with others, you are more equipped to ask for what you need and manage your relationships more effectively.
